Circuit of the Tre Calli
Pleasant "climb" to the Monte Tre Calli group as part of a circuit that takes you back to the starting point. The route requires, especially in the first part, a good dose of physical effort; once you reach the top, you are amply rewarded by the enchanting 360 degree view of the Gulf of Salerno, the Sorrento Peninsula, Capri, the Agerola basin and the other peaks of the Lattari Mountains.
On August 15th of each year it becomes an evocative location for the L'Alba Magica concert.
• Length: 2,5 Km approx
• Travel time: 2 h 30 m

Information on values and points of interest
This excursion has its main value in the great panoramic view of the route. During the initial ascent to the Tre Calli, the view dominates the entire Agerola basin, the eastern part of the Amalfi Coast (including its mountains) and the Gulf of Salerno, with the silhouettes of the Picentini Mountains, the Alburno and the Cilento beyond. beyond the sea. Once at the top a new view opens up, suddenly and fantastic: Positano and its blue bay, the small archipelago of Li Galli (or Sirenuse), the whole Sorrento Peninsula (with its south side that falls into the sea with spectacular cliffs) and the island of Capri with its stacks. Naples is covered by the bulk of the Tre Pizzi, but behind the hills of Vico Equense appears Ischia, lost in the waters of the Neapolitan gulf.
Looking out from the southernmost peak of the Tre Calli (1122 m), the verdant Vallone Praia and the promontory between Praiano and Vettica Maggiore are dominated from above. Approaching Capo Muro, one faces the barren and layered southern edge of Monte Catello, which looks almost like that of an Egyptian pyramid.
I went down to the Casino di Paipo, as well as from the view of the coast, the eye is drawn to the rocky walls and towers with which the various peaks of Monte S. Angelo in Tre Pizzi culminate.
The rocks on which you walk are initially (Pendola) and towards the end (Paipo) of the cemented groundwater debris of the terminal Pliocene. The rocks that can be seen (from afar) on the side of the spur of Campo de li Galli, above Nocella, have the same nature. Above 800-850 m altitude, on the other hand, you walk on limestone and dolomitic limestone from the Upper Jurassic, blackish because they were born from lagoon mud rich in decomposed organic remains.
As for vegetation, on the route one encounters mainly coppice chestnut groves and mixed thickets of the submontane horizon, but the sunny slopes with a S and SW exposure also allow the Leccio to climb to unusual altitudes.

Route information
From piazza Paolo Capasso (Bomerano) take via Mannini and, after about 300 meters, at a crossroads, turn left. After 200 m, shortly after a bend to the left, you take - to the right - a stairway that climbs between houses and terraced fields (locality Pendola). Once on the road that goes up to Paipo, follow it to the left, go past two hairpin bends and reach a Crucifix. Here you take a mule track on the right. After about 1 km uphill on cemented ground and a short stretch at high altitude, at the height of a small house / sheepfold, the path becomes less evident and enters the vegetation. This section of the route has very evident signs on rock or tree trunks and slightly bumpy wooden steps. Once on the crest, go left to reach the southernmost peak of the Tre Calli (1122 m), beautifully overlooking the coast; then retrace your steps and, having passed the point of arrival on the ridge, head north along the obvious summit path. You pass Monte Calavrice (1145 m) and - with a slight descent - you reach the saddle of Capo Muro (1072 m), beyond which rises the pyramidal mass of Monte S. Angelo in Tre Pizzi. From here you can take the path of Monte di Mezzo, to climb the middle peak.
For the return, as well as the way forward, you can go down towards the Casino di Paipo taking the clearly visible path to the left of the unmistakable "rock mushroom" of Capo Muro, towards the south. The steep descent on rock and stony ground leads to a dirt road that must be followed to the left. Once at the Casino di Paipo, continue along the same road (from here on asphalted) that you traveled on the outward journey, until you reach the Pendola staircase and, therefore, Piazza Capasso.
